We figure out what to do with 48 vegetable plants

You see, what happened was, I thought I was buying 12 plants: 5 tomato plants, 3 pepper plants, cilantro (which was stupid, I found out later), chives, and 2 basil plants. What I didn't realize, because I was in a hurry and I had less than ten minutes and both kids with me, was that these plants came in packs of 4. So I didn't have 12 plants, I had 48 plants.

The original idea was that I would plant them in pots. But there was no way I was going to buy that many pots. So I spoke to Ted, and we agreed to have a garden this summer. We had a very limited space, so we ended up planting everything too close together. Even with the garden, we still had to put some of the plants in pots.

Theo is loving this whole garden thing. He loves the dirt, the worms, the beetles. He likes watering the plants with his blue watering can. He goes outside and helps water the plants every day. And I'm sure he'll love picking tomatoes and peppers, and eating them too.

So here's two pictures of our garden. We also have planted some sunflowers on the other side of the yard. We'll see if they come out. It's not much to look at, but as Grampy says, by harvest time we'll probably have enough tomatoes and peppers to feed half the town.
